Hello Fellow Grazers + Cheese Enthusiasts!
I'm Ashley Amendola, and the creator of Coven Catery. I'm a firm believer that food should look beautiful and taste equally as good; So what better way to share that with the world than creating lavish trays and tantalizing tablescapes!
All dreams start somewhere, and this one started with an empty stomach.
I began working with charcuterie at a young age. Growing up in a large Italian family, we knew it as "antipasto". Antipasto (as some know) is the traditional first course of a formal Italian meal. Typical ingredients of a traditional antipasto include cured meats, olives, peperoncini, mushrooms, anchovies, artichoke hearts, various cheeses, cured meats, and vegetables in oil or vinegar.
If I wasn't helping my mother make the antipasto then I was the one hovering over it, shoveling it into my mouth. As I grew older and times changed, I began developing my own cooking style; But one thing always remained... my love for that dang antipasto.
I began to verve off course from a traditional Italian antipasto and started to experiment with fresher, and more seasonal ingredients. I started to incorporate jams and sauces and other dipping options. I played with different cheeses and would use a variety coming from cow, sheep and goat's milk.
Now that I had compiled all of these new flavors that spoke for themselves in the taste department, it became a mission of mine to display them in a manner where they looked just at good as they tasted.
All Aboard the Board Train
After a couple years of designing charcuterie boards and grazing tables for close friends and family, I decided it was time to share the beauty of the board with everyone else.
So here we are, the birth of Coven Catery.
The name "Coven" was brewed up (in quite the literal sense) from a longtime love of all things spooky and scary. A coven is a group or gathering of witches who would meet regularly to do... well... witch things. It refers to a secret or close knit group of associates; which can also be known as a group of friends or chosen family.
I couldn't think of a better representation of myself, my business and those that would be enjoying my culinary offerings than Coven Catery.
